My beagle is very independent. I wish he was a snuggle muffin, but he doesn’t bark unless he’s on a trail. He can sit when I have a treat, and even stays for 3 seconds or until a scent passes his nose…

Agreed, this woman has obviously never owned a beagle. Mine is sleeping under the blanket by my legs.
also, with my beagles, they only bayed the first night WHILE THEY WHERE INSIDE. However, we had our beagles sleep outside the second night, and the baying problem was gone.
And they can be very stubborn also.
Its not uncommon to find owners who gave up on their beagles because they so commonly revert from training.
Lovely dogs(very affectionate) but very determined and prone to running scents.
Oh.. and one more thing.
A beagle can tear-up(destroy) a sizable lawn in a matter of hours.
By independent, she means that they tend to follow their nose more than they follow human commands, not that they are unloving. This is true for most hounds.
she is so dumb, that is a very generic view on beagles, once they establish a home and a family they are VERY loving and dependent
